Chios is an island in the northeast Aegean Sea. Its geographical coordinates are 38ο 21΄ Ν, 26ο 08΄ Ε. It’s the fifth in size island of Greece, occupying an area of 842 m2. Along with Psara, Oinousses and all the other small islands, Chios is approximately 904 m2. Its length is 44 and its width is 24 kilometers. Its coastline is 213 kilometers. Chios has 53.106 inhabitants, according to the census paper of 2001.
