The town of Chios has always constituted the hub of the entire insular network of the prefecture. A history of millennia is printed in a life-like manner on the central part of the Town which at the same time hosts the biggest part of the cultural, artistic and economic activity of the island. The guided tour of the area of the Historical Center of Chios Town is roughly defined from the eastern front of the harbor, the moat of the fortress, the Municipal Garden, Aplotaria Street and Stefanou Tsouri Street (Atsiki).
